In 2016 BBC Future was granted exclusive access to the air ambulance base where HRH Prince William was a pilot. We spoke to the Prince and his team mates about their work dealing with some of Britain’s worst emergencies. Revealing a relaxed and little seen side of the Prince, the resulting films were picked up by news outlets around the world.
Waiting Games
The Duke of Cambridge and the team discuss what they get up to when they aren't training or preparing as they wait for a call-out. They also speak about how it felt when William joined the crew.

The Duke of Cambridge and his colleagues explain what it takes to fly a team of critical-care medics to an emergency scene. Piloting with developing information about the circumstances and the landing site is a complex and dangerous operation.

The Air Ambulance team describe how they keep their heads during a call-out - delivering emergency treatment, keeping the public safe and managing an accident scene.
"We're essentially bringing the first half an hour of care that an emergency department could deliver to the roadside."
